New Venue for Hawaiian Music in Maui
10/04/2003 07:46AM
Contributed by: ARomero

General News Maui, Hawaii - Where do you go to hear slack key music when you’re in Hawaii? Sadly, the answer has always been “good luck finding it.” But that is about to change. Beginning this October, there will be a regular concert series of slack key and other traditional Hawaiian music every Tuesday night at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Maui.

The concerts will be similar to the ones enjoyed by thousands every year in mainland tours. Hawaii’s top musicians will be performing. The show will be hosted by George Kahumoku, Jr., Hawaii’s “Renaissance Man,” and each week there will be an invited guest artist.

The October schedule includes Ledward Kaapana, Dennis Kamakahi and Cyril Pahinui. This will be an intimate show in the Ritz’s 120 seat amphitheater, so there will be an opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists after the performance. Don’t miss real Hawaiian music next time you’re on Maui.

Call 888-669-3858 for reservations and information or visit the website at www.slackkey.com.
