(Prensa Latina - Cumbancha) Havana, Cuba - Cuban singer Ibrahim Ferrer delighted his Mexican audience with the Pilón and Guasón rhythms, at his performance in the National Auditorium along with members of the Buena Vista Social Club. According to Mexican publications, Ferrer sang, danced and enjoyed with his fans the songs from his most recent album Buenos Hermanos, and included these Cuban rhythms that are not widely known in Mexico.
Previous to his performance, the Buena Vista orchestra made an introduction -called overture by classic orchestras- to show what kind of music the audience would enjoy for an hour and a half. Daily newspapers commented that Ferrer was backed by Guajiro Mirabal's trumpet; Robertico Fonseca's piano; Cachaíto López's bass and Demetrio Muñiz's trombone, and other musicians, pleasing an audience that continuously requested their favorite songs.
