Events(Prensa Latina - Cumbancha) Cienfuegos, Cuba - Cubans will enjoy the Longest "Son" in the World during the Cubadisco 2004 Fair, in its eighth edition taking place in May. Ciro Benemelis, Organizing Commission President of the most important event for the Cuban record industry, said that the initiative is a feat, consisting of around 300 hours of non-stop music all along Cuba. More than 2,800 musicians from different part of Cuba will take part in the event, considered one of the best attractions of the coming Cubadisco, to start in Santiago de Cuba and continue until it reaches western Cuba.

The Cubans intend to break their own record set in 1997 during the first Cubadisco, when with the idea of maestro Juan Formell, different groups kept the music going for 100 consecutive hours at Havana's La Tropical dance hall.
