The Rosette Guitar Duo - Portage to Tunnel Mountain
11/22/2003 07:59PM
Contributed by: rosetteguitar

New CDsEdmonton, Alberta, Canada - The Rosette Guitar Duo has composed and recorded a full-length compact disc entitled Portage to Tunnel Mountain, which was released in June of 2003. This album has received airplay from CBC radio nationally.

Balancing intricate counterpoints and sophisticated harmonies, the Rosette Guitar Duo merges classical, world, jazz, and popular song with a fresh approach and intent.

Guitarists Kevin Marsh and Michael Lyngstad formed the Rosette Guitar Duo in the spring of 2001. This collaboration demonstrates ability. Their diverse appeal has allowed them to offer their music to such organizations as the Global Visions Film Festival, G6B, Rooftops Canada, the Edmonton Classical Guitar Society, and the Syncrude Nextfest, for whom the duo was commissioned to write a screenplay and music for a short film. They have performed live at numerous private functions, in formal concerts, on A-Channel television, on CJSR radio, and have a frequently-aired feature on Shaw cable television.

The Rosette Guitar Duo will be touring extensively in support of their CD. They are advocates of environmental and humanitarian causes, supporting these beliefs through music. As educators, the duo seeks to enlighten other guitarists and musicians about the finer aspects of the guitar and its endless possibilities.
