EventsFloyd, Virginia - The 3rd annual FloydFest, the unique three day roots music and arts festival that made its debut in 2002, recently announced its roster of musicians signed to the 2004  (August 13-15) event. This year’s lineup includes mandolin master Sam Bush and his band,  Del McCoury, Mountain Heart, Americana musicians Donna the Buffalo, national flatpicking champion Larry Keel and The Larry Keel Experience, reggae band Culture, Brazilian master percussionist Cyro Baptista and his carnival troupe Beat the Donkey, Railroad Earth, Dar Williams, Celtic rock band Tempest, Canadian Celtic rockers Enter the Haggis and return act The African Showboyz. Many additions will be made to the roster by August, including a host of local and regional talent.

FloydFest includes a large children’s area, healing arts workshop, artists’ booths and demonstrations, bonfire and drum circle, shaded beer and wine garden, four stages including the Workshop Porch and the new addition of a Dance Tent which will feature two intimate nights with Donna the Buffalo.

The family friendly event drew over 3000 attendees/day in 2002 and 4000 attendees/day in 2003. Special ‘WinterPrice’ tickets and souvenir ticket packages including on-site parking to the event can be purchased at www.floydfest.com or by calling 540-745-FEST (3378). Theme and graphics for FloydFest III A Midsummer’s Dream based on an original watercolor design by local artist Rick Cooley can be viewed on the website. Promoters say attendees to this year’s event can expect exciting surprise additions and an increased commitment to audience involvement and experience.
