The 27th Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival
06/04/2004 01:20PM
Contributed by: ARomero

EventsVancouver, Canada - The 2004 edition of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival will take place July 16, 17 & 18, 2004, at Jericho Beach Park. Music fans will see more than 45 groups and guest artists offer three evenings and two full days of music on eight stages in a beautiful outdoor venue.

Musical offerings at the 2004 Vancouver Folk Music Festival will include the ancient songs of working women's lives in Northern Italy, the latest musical explorations from the far reaches of the Celtic explosion and traditions from as far away as Turkey, Vietnam and Pakistan, all exploring and pushing the boundaries of the traditional definitions of folk music.

[image2_right]From celebrated names like Bruce Cockburn, Utah Phillips, Odetta and Janis Ian to new-to-the-Festival acts such as France's Dupain, Egypt's Hamza El Din and Poland's Warsaw Village Band, the 2004 Vancouver Folk Music Festival will present familiar favorites and exciting new tunes and songs.

In addition to both traditional and contemporary folk and folk-fusion, the Festival will feature an array of workshops with performances and opportunities to participate, a colorful Artists' Marketplace and a mouthwatering selection of healthful foods and beverages.
