Solin, Croatia - This year, Ethnoambient Salona celebrates its seventh anniversary. The annual festival takes place August 13 in Solin, Croatia. The musical guests this time come from Greece, the Persian Gulf and other nations, including the host country. The festival started in 1995, in Zagreb, the Croatian capital, when a group of enthusiasts organized a concert called «Ethno ambient live» that presented Legen, Lidija Bajuk and Dunja Knebl – pioneers of what is called Croatian ethno today. These musicians explored their own roots, their traditional music and incorporated it to the present.

Since 1998, Ethnoambient Salona “is spreading good vibrations throughout Croatia and worldwide”, says one of the producers. Each year in Solin, a small historical city near Split, Croatia, many cultures and musicians from all around the Globe introduce the sounds of their ancestors to this magical venue. “Past editions included didgeridoos [or didjeridus] from Australia, water drums and chants of the First Nations (Canada), ud from Israel, the unforgettable songs from Iran and many, many other traditional sounds of Italy, Catalonia (Spain), Mongolia, Slovenia, England, Ireland, France, Bulgaria, Croatia - fused many times with modern electronic inventions. All of them are still there and welcoming each new sound.
