New CDsIsrael - Athar (Footprints) is the new album by by virtuoso ud player & composer Sameer Makhoul. It is a blend of traditional Arab music, ancient poetry and Turkish and Andalusian music. A wealth of cultures and rhythms in music and poetry have been combined to create the a remarkable sound.

Makhoul is a native of the village of Peki'in (Galilee). His recording is a rare example of collaboration between Israel's very finest Jewish and Arab musicians: Sameer Makhoul, Nasim Dakwar, Naor Carmi, Assaf Zamir, Butrus Khuri, Eissa Awad, Alfred Hajjar and Eyal Sela.
