Rosa Passos Joins Superstar Tribute to Paquito D'Rivera at Carnegie Hall
12/27/2004 05:44AM
Contributed by: ARomero

EventsNew York City, USA - Brazil's Rosa Passos has joined the stellar lineup for the Fujitsu Jazz Festival's tribute to Paquito D'Rivera at New York's Carnegie Hall on January 10, 2005. On a roster of artists that includes Yo-Yo Ma, Bebo Valdés, Michel Camilo, Las Hermanas Marquez, Dave Samuels & Andy Narell, The New York Voices, Claudio Roditi, Romero Lubambo, Brenda Feliciano, Pablo Ziegler and many others, Passos will sing two songs with D'Rivera, including "0 Pato," which she sings with D'Rivera on Amorosa, her solo debut recording for Sony Classical.

The tribute to D'Rivera - who also appears, with Passos, on the critically acclaimed, award-winning Obrigado Brazil albums featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma - celebrates the Latin/jazz superstar's "50 years and 10 nights" in show business.

During the performance, which he will also host, D'Rivera will be presented the National Endowment for the Arts' Jazz Master's Award. Presented by Fujitsu, the concert is produced by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta.
