CD ReviewsEmily Burridge

Footsteps in the Sand (WHWMCD 02, 2004)

Footsteps in the Sand is the second CD release by British cellist, singer and producer Emily Burridge. Her music is very melodic and ethereal, with world music elements in the form of sound collages, rhythms and instruments. Footsteps in the Sand was produced in studios in Brazil, Austria and England incorporating musicians from all these countries giving this CD a global quality infused with Emily's sonorous cello combined with classical harmonies.

Burridge is known fro her collaborations with Austrian  progressive rock guitarist Gandalf. Burridge finds her inspiration sources while traveling off the beaten track. In particular, this album centers on Brazil. After her visit to the South American country, Burridge returned to her studio equipped with both memories and recordings made on location to draw on and integrate into her music.

At this point, Burridge is choosing to promote and sell initially through the internet at www.emilyburridge.com.
