Viva La Salsa (Gold Star Music/Universal Music Latino 803 180 004-2, 2004)

The top Puerto Rican salseros appear on Viva La Salsa, a live recording that was made at the Tito Puente Amphitheater in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December of 2003. It includes five of the best known singers in Puerto Rico's salsa scene, Adalberto Santiago, Tito Allen, Luigi Texidor, Papo Sánchez, and Sammy González.

They are joined by a group of outstanding musicians, who play dazzling solos throughout the album. The instrumentalists are: Endel Dueño on timbales; Piro Rodríguez, Elías López and Luis Aquino on trumpets; Endel, Rafy Torres and Jorge Díaz on trombone; Luisra Torres and Memo Pelayo on saxophone;  Paoli Mejía on congas;  Javier Oquendo on bongo drums;  Tony Escapes Jr. on drums;  Prodigio Claudio on cuatro; Alein Rodríguez on piano; Junior Alvarado and Edwin Rosario on bass; and Primi Cruz, Darvel García and Wichie Camacho on backing vocals.

Viva La Salsa is packaged in a deluxe case that contains two CDs with the entire live concert, including 15 pieces that were performed by the five legendary figures. There is also a bonus DVD, which includes 5 pieces from the concert: “Boranda”, “Indestructible”, “El Rey del Timbal”, “Son Son Charari”, and “Seguiré sin soñar.”
