Trinidad - Onika Bostic, a rising Soca star, died December 19, from massive injuries sustained in a car crash just east of the capital, Port of Spain, on December 10. She was heading to a gig.

Born December 23, Bostic first sang back-up for Machel Montano, then recorded the single, "Facinated", with another up and coming artist, Gailann.

At 19, she moved to Antigua as female lead vocalist for star 'jam band', the Burning Flames, but issued tracks under her own name for Trinidad carnival: "Mash It Up"(2002), "Get On Bad"(w/ Bunji Garlin) in 2004, and "All Is Yours," for 2005.
