Gamelan from Central Java (ARC Music EUCD1902, 2004)
The music on this album comes from the Indonesian island of Java. Gamelan
music is played primarily in the islands of Java and Bali. Most researchers
recognize three different styles: Balinese, West Javan (Sunda) and Central
Javan. The album's detailed notes describe the characteristics of Central Javan
gamelan music.
The album includes recordings by musicians from Java performing on
