Events(Prensa Latina) Santiago de Cuba - A tribute gala for the emblematic Venezuelan singer Ali Primera will take place here during the 25th Caribbean Festival, as the just-presented organizing committee announced Tuesday.

This will be one of the most important events of the cultural meeting July 3 through 9, having the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as guest of honor. Venezuelan Ambassador Adan Chavez Frias participated in the preparatory meeting.

Caribbean House director Joel James highlighted the continuous organization of these Fire Festivals for the last 25 years, despite the difficulties Cuban economy has faced since the 1990s.

The 200 artists of the Venezuelan delegation will bring shows of their customs, traditions and the multiethnic heritage of the nation involved in drawing a definitive referential line in the hemisphere.

The Festival will also include 35 shows, parades, nine workshops on history, creativity and Caribbean panorama and dissertations on the communicating
vessels linking those nations.

The tribute to Venezuela´s singer, who passed away at the age of 44 on February 16, 1985, will take place at the central Cespedes Park.
