Dan Dwyer, the lead singer for Southern California Celtic band The Tinker's Own was killed in a motorcycle accident October 15. He was 58 years old.
One of the original founders of The Tinker’s Own, Dwyer was known for his fine baritone, bones playing, and storytelling. His sense of humor, wit, and fervor for Celtic music endeared him to audiences and fellow band members.
The Tinker's Own introduced many Southern Californians to Celtic music and showcased privately at the 2004 Folk Alliance conference in San Diego.
