Donna Maria, Electronica Meets the Soul of Portuguese Traditional Music

Portuguese band Donna Maria have released Tudo É Para Sempre... (Different World DW5006CDVD, 2005). Donna Maria are a Lisbon based group, featuring Marisa Pinto (vocals), Miguel A. Majer (drums) and Ricardo Santos (keyboards and samplers). Heavily influenced by electronic music, theirs souls are also deeply touched by Portuguese traditional music, expressed by the use of instruments such as Portuguese guitar and accordion.

Tudo É Para Sempre features Brazilian and Portuguese guest composers and artists. There are duets with Paulo de Carvalho and Vitorino (artists well known in Portugal), Pedro Luís e a Parede and Letícia Vasconcelos (Brazilian composers and musicians). Help arrives also from other friend. There are collaborations from Ciro Cruz (bass player of Gabriel O Pensador), Paulinho Moska (one of the most recognized new generation Brazilian composers, has honored Donna Maria with a wonderful song) and Gil do Carmo (heir of the King of Fado - Carlos do Carmo).
