Awards Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - The Society for American Music announced the following awards given at the Eugene meeting in February:

SAM LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Dena Epstein

Given "In recognition of living well the scholar's life, of sharing joyously of [her] understanding, and of shaping fields of knowledge through exemplary research, compelling prosody, and abiding character"

SAM DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CITATION: Anne Dhu McLucas

Given "In recognition of [her] manifest, long-standing, and deep commitment to bettering our community of the lovers of American music"

HONORARY MEMBER: Pauline Oliveros

In recognition of her "exemplary commitment to listening deeply and well of the life and music that surrounds us"
