Guinga will make his Chicago debut on
Wednesday, April 13 at 7p.m. in Preston Bradley Hall. Admission is free.
Guinga is an accomplished Brazilian guitarist, vocalist, and composer. This 2001 Latin Grammy nominee is widely considered one of the finest musical talents to emerge from Brazil in the 1990s.
He plays elegant songs that explore styles ranging from samba and choro to Brazilian pop and jazz. Artists such as Paulo César Pinheiro, Elis Regina, and Sérgio Mendes have recorded his songs.
Public programs are presented by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Public programs at the Chicago Cultural Center are partially supported by grants from the Chicago Cultural Center Foundation and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
