EventsLong Island City, New York, USA - The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center is closing its “Performance Planet” music series on June 14 with Kevin So, a young up-and-coming Asian-American singer/songwriter.

Mr. So, who has a distinct sound that blends pop, rhythm and blues, and hip hop, has already made a name for himself in New York and Boston where he is performing at sold out shows. He has also been the opening act for some of the industry’s best known performers, including Joe *censored*er, Randy Newman, Richie Havens, and Mary Lou Lord.

He recently released his collaboration with Keb’Mo’ titled, Talk. And his latest CD Leaving the Lights On, combines the beats and harmonies of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop.

The concert will be held in the college’s Little Theatre at 47th Avenue and Van Dam Street in Long Island City. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are $12; $7 for students and seniors. To purchase tickets, please call the box office at (718) 482-5151. For information on the other cultural events, visit www.lagcc.cuny.edu/lpac.
