Contributed by: ARomero

EventsElche, Spain - The 2005 edition of Mestival will take place between May 19 and June 4. Some of the artists featured this year include Eliades Ochoa y el Cuarteto Patria (Cuba), Sarabanda (Cuba/Brazil/Uruguay/Spain), and local Flamenco acts Francisco Contreras, “El Niño de Elche” con Juan Ramón Caro (Spain).

Every year, between May and June, Elche hosts Mestival, the International Festival of Ethnic Music and Cultures and of Cross-Cultural Exchange. Held at Elche’s famous Palm Grove , Elche’s Mestival is a melting pot for cultural exchange and understanding between the different peoples of the world where music, dance, cinema, cuisine and theatre all play their part in celebrating peace and brotherhood.
