General NewsShanghai, China - (Xinhua-PRNewswire) Shanghai Jinshan District Government announced today that the "Summer-Wind Music Season 2005" will begin on the beaches of Shanghai Jinshan July 30th. The event will be hosted jointly by Shanghai Jinshan People's Government, Asia's first music channel "Channel [V]" and Shanghai Media Group (SMG). Well known singers from the China mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan: BabyQ, Cyndi Wang, Wang Rong, Jones, HacKen Lee, Flower Music Band, Hins, Daniel Zhang, Yumiko Cheng, Show, Shin, Joey Yung, Vivian, Stanley Huang, Hi-Bomb and Nicholas Tse, will meet with over ten thousand fans on the beach and trigger the strongest "Music Storm" of the summer with an endless "music relay".

On June 28, representatives from the organizers, guests from various social circles and nearly one hundred media from China and abroad attended the news conference held in Beijing where Cyndi Wang, a singer from Taiwan, was present to demonstrate support on behalf of the singers who will join this performance.

The Jinshan Beach is the longest coastline in Shanghai, which gives the city a genuine 'beach city' feeling.

About Jinshan District

Jinshan, one of the 19 districts (counties) of Shanghai, is located in the southwest of the city, north of the Hangzhou Bay and west of Zhejiang Province. It is situated at the hub of the economic region linking Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo, and is inside the geographic ring of the Yangtze River Delta that is only a two hours drive away.

Jinshan District has a total land area of 586 square kilometers (about 226 square miles), equivalent to that of Singapore, and a population of 550,000. It has rich natural and cultural heritages, including beautiful beach lines, famous traditional peasant paintings, black ceramic arts and crafts, and a petrochemical base.
