ConferencesVienna, Austria - the International Music & Media Centre (IMZ) is organizing a Pitching Session for audiovisual co-productions at Womex, whose function will be to foster the setting up of co-productions (between producers, between producers and directors, between TV channels and producers) by creating a space for contacts, discussion and negotiation devoted to all actors and partners involved in the production of World Music films and videos.

Proposals for co-productions will have to adopt the approach of the general audiovisual programs market with regard to legal and financial matters as well as contents and commercial relations. Apart from the setting up and financing of projects, the purpose of this session is to create progress in the conditions and practices governing the production of audiovisual work (prices, bases for co-production agreements, nature of the markets, and so on) in order to provide an improved basis for relational networks in this area of the market of such work.

IMZ will invite commissioning editors, senior producers, distributors and other financiers, who will provide feedback on both the creative strengths of the project and the business plan for its financing.

A jury will select the 5 best co-production proposals and these will be the subject of a 15-minute presentation and discussion with experts.
