South African Music Benefit Album
07/20/2005 05:54PM
Contributed by: simunye

New CDsSouth Africa - A benefit album entitled Thina Simunye (We Are Together) is now available. Produced by the Children of Agape Orphanage in South Africa, the CD has been receiving tremendous acclaim worldwide, including praise from people like Alicia Keys and Angelique Kidjo.

The recording is available from Simunye Project. There are sounds clips and additional information about the project. All proceeds are going into the rebuilding of the Agape orphanage which burned down in a fire this past Christmas.

The Simunye project is an AIDS awareness and fundraising initiative. It was established by young people from the UK and Canada after they returned from volunteering in South Africa in 2003 and wanted to continue to help the people that had touched their lives. The project has three main objectives:

  • To raise funds and help to directly improve the lives of children affected by HIV and AIDS.
  • To raise awareness worldwide, of the AIDS pandemic in South Africa and the way it impacts the lives of children.
  • To educate by supporting education initiatives in South Africa and helping to give children the opportunities that they deserve.
