Cree Love Songs from the Northern Plains
07/22/2005 04:03PM
Contributed by: WMC_News_Dept.

New CDsPhoenix (Arizona), USA - Our Love Will Never Die, the latest recording from Randy Wood of the Cree people of Canada, weaves intimate vocals over the steady pulse of the native drum. Randy sings original romantic lullabies and love songs in a unique version of the Plains Cree round dance. His flowing vocals sway to the gentle beat of his drum, leading the listener on a journey of heart-felt expression.

Randy's solo recording, Round Dance the Night Away, received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Native American Album in 2003. His second album, Round Dance Blues, was released to critical acclaim and was named the Best Traditional Album at the 2005 Native American Music Awards. Randy Wood is one of the founding members of the famed pow-wow drum, Northern Cree.
