Brazilian Night Features Chicago Debuts of Seu Jorge and Super Group Orquestra Imperial

Chicago (Illinois), USA – The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Museum of Contemporary Art present Seu Jorge and Orquestra Imperial as part of World Music Festival: Chicago 2005. The artists will make their Chicago debut performances as part of Brazilian Night at Millennium Park's Jay Pritzker Pavilion, located between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive at Washington Street, on Monday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

DJ Joe Bryl begins the evening with a short set. Admission to the concert is free. This concert is co-presented with the Museum of Contemporary Art, which presents Tropicália: A Revolution in Brazilian Culture this fall featuring concerts and a landmark exhibition. Brazilian Night is part of the 7th Annual World Music Festival: Chicago 2005 featuring the best in international music, Sept. 16 - 22. Organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the weeklong World Music Festival showcases both traditional and contemporary music from many of the world's diverse cultures. Festival events include a mix of free and ticketed concerts, live radio broadcasts and educational workshops presented in museums, parks, cultural centers, plazas, theaters, bookstores, clubs and other venues throughout Chicago.
