Flute Virtuoso, Ron Korb, Launches Tour of Asia

Tour AnnouncementsDuring September and October, 2005, international recording artist Ron Korb will be touring mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Singapore. Tour highlights include performances for an estimated crowd of 10,000 at the Opening Ceremony for the annual Kaoshiung County Festival in Taiwan; Expo 2005 in Nagoya, Japan; and at Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou and Century Theatre in Beijing (two performances at each location).

Ron Korb has 9 internationally released CDs and a DVD. He has played on soundtracks for over 50 television programs and motion pictures including Being Julia, starring Annette Benning; Space Station 3D IMAX, narrated by Tom Cruise; Return To Kandahar; Saint Ralph; and The White Countess, the soon to be released Merchant/Ivory Production partially filmed in Shanghai and starring Vanessa Redgrave, Lynn Redgrave and Natasha Richardson.

For portions of his tour, Ron Korb has invited pianist Laila Biali, bassist Brandi Disterheft and violinist Liana Bérubé to join his regular line up that includes guitarist Ray Hickey, Jr. and percussionist Larry Crowe.

Ron Korb, has been called the "flute shaman", "fluto no kotaishi" (prince of flutes), and "flute traveler". His music reflects his travels to 5 continents and 27 countries including China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Japan. Ron's compositions are a rich tapestry of Chinese, Celtic, and Middle Eastern textures.
