Southern Style Pawnee Pow-wow Music

New CDsPhoenix (Arizona), USA - Young Bird, of Pawnee, Oklahoma, marks their eleventh recording for Canyon Records with the release of Memories, an album of southern style pow-wow music On this recording. Young Bird, led by Curtis Hamilton-Young Bird (Pawnee), gathers around the drum and sings from the heart in a loving tribute to those that have passed on.

This award-winning drum was nominated for a 2001 Grammy for Best Native American Album for Change of Life and was named Southern Drum Champion at the 2005 Gathering of Nations. Young Bird is in demand at pow-wows throughout North America and attends as many as fifty pow-wows a year.
