Contributed by: Lakshmi

Concert reviewsSmt. Niveditha Parthasararthy & her Troupe consisting of Kumari’s Ishwarya, Meenakshi & Smt. Gayathri presented an excellent show for the 70th foundation course for All India Services at Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Academy of Administration- Mussourie on 23-09-05. Despite a long journey from the south with the train being delayed at Andhra their team of 4 Classical Dancers gave in their best and had the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and IPS (Indian Police Service) Trainee Officers in raptures.

Each item was carefully chosen commencing with the traditional & auspicious ‘Thodayamangalam ‘which itself means ‘Auspicious Beginning’ followed by ‘Pallandu Pallandu’ a Pasuram from Divya Prabhandam by the Vaishnavite Saint Poet Perialwar blessing the Lord himself.

The choreography for ‘Azhagu Deivamaga Vandhu’ a Kavadi Chindu describing the Qualities of Lord Murugha was commendable.

The immediate change of Smt. Niveditha Parthasarathy into ‘Andal Costume’ for the song Male Manivanna had a pleasant effect.

Brahmam Okate by the Telugu Composer Annamaya conveys the message God is the same for all, Just as the Sleep is the same for King and the Servant . This song in folk beat made the audience also clap their hands to the beat of the music.

The various poses were very well applauded . The entry & exit was precise.

‘Thaga Thaga Endru Aadomo’ by Subramnya Bharati, an invigorating number performed by Ishwarya , Meenakshi and Gayathri followed by Niveditha as Meera for the song ‘Basomore Nainanme ‘ were very pleasing to watch.

The program concluded with a fast, rhythmic Thillana in Kathana Kuthukalam.
