General NewsNew York, USA /PRNewswire/ - Santana's All That I Am (Arista Records) is the #1 artist album today with its entry at #2 (to the Now compilation) on the Billboard Top 200 Chart with 142,309 units scanned according to Nielsen SoundScan. Santana's entry outperforms all 2005 chart debuts from his classic all time peers: The Rolling Stones entered the charts at #3 with 128,705 units, Stevie Wonder at #5 with 120,726, Paul McCartney at #6 with 91,543 units, Neil Young at #11 with 71,964 and Eric Clapton at #13 with 59,200.

The new CD marks the third Santana album release on Arista Records. Carlos Santana co-produced All That I Am with Arista/J Records founder/BMG U.S. Chairman & CEO Clive Davis, who also produced the multi-platinum and Grammy(R) award winning albums Supernatural and Shaman, which have sold 30 million copies world wide in just six years since their release.

Comments Clive Davis on the chart entry: "Santana's continuing appeal to music fans of all ages is truly inspirational. He makes history with every new achievement like this."

The album's strong entry at #2 was propelled by a strategic marketing campaign of television, internet, and radio exposure that built on the popularity of his previous multi-platinum and Grammy(R) winning collaborative albums. Santana launched his television appearances in September, performing the single "I'm Feeling You" with Michelle Branch & The Wreckers on the "NFL Kickoff" and "The World Music Awards." Other television appearances included "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Live with Larry King," "Good Morning America," "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Access Hollywood." Santana is also scheduled to perform the track "I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love" with Los Lonely Boys Los Lonely Boys on the American Music Awards later this month.

Santana also celebrated the release of All That I Am with a concert webcast by RealNetworks at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on release date Tuesday, November 1st. The new single "Just Feel Better" featuring an anthemic rock performance by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith ships to radio next week. The album entered the digital charts at #1 today and held the #1 spot at iTunes all week.

An inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Carlos Santana has won ten Grammy Awards, sold more than 90 million records, and performed to over 100 million people. Ever since Santana's electrifying performance at the original Woodstock in 1969, Carlos has been a globally renowned artist who continues to evolve and grow with every new endeavor. All That I Am builds on the legacy of one of the most extraordinary creative and personal journeys in music.
