Round Dance Songs of the Northern Plains
12/12/2005 05:34AM
Contributed by: WMC_News_Dept.

New CDsPhoenix (Arizona), USA - Algin Scabby Robe (a member of the Blackfeet nation) makes his solo debut on Canyon with Along the Way - Round Dance Songs. Algin, one of today's leading pow-wow singers and songmakers, is also a member of the Black Lodge Singers. His singing and innovative songs are rooted in the traditions of the round dance, a winter social gathering of the northern Plains.

Round dances are a time for people to come together as a community, to renew friendships and make new ones and for courting. On this debut recording, Algin presents his own collection of original contemporary round dance songs.
