Folk Britannia: Folk Freestage and Joe Boyd & Friends

EventsLondon, UK - Folk Britannia presents Folk Freestage, an afternoon of sessions and performances by a number of budding folk and folk-inspired talents, including Tunng, Fence Collective, The Eighteenth Day of May. the concerts will be held February 4th, 2006, at 14:00 at FreeStage.

Featuring the folktronica duo Tunng and the ever expanding and hugely creative Fence Collective, presenting Barbarossa and Pictish Trail and hotly tipped neo folk band The Eighteenth Day of May.

Later that day, the program continues with Joe Boyd & Friends at 16:00 at the Garden Room. This free event is not ticketed, admission is on a first come first serve basis, subject to availability.

Legendary producer of Nick Drake, Vashti Bunyan and Fairport Convention, Joe Boyd talks about his new book White Bicycles: Making Music in the 1960s and his lifetime love affair with British folk music.

He will also be joined by a few friends for discussion and perhaps a song or two.
