Celtic Connections Announces New Concerts and Special Guests
01/14/2006 05:28PM
Contributed by: WMC_News_Dept.

General NewsGlasgow, Scotland - Irish singer Mary Black has been confirmed as one of Altan's 'special guests' helping the band to celebrate 21 years of playing together. Other guests confirmed include Buile.

Funksters Croft No Five will close Celtic Connections 2006 at the Arches with a first half performance from gypsy jazz trio Koshka. Tickets are priced £14 and are on sale now.

Altan is one of the most veteran acts in the Irish folk music scene. Their style has created many followers inside and outside of Ireland. The virtuoso instrumentalists transform traditional folk tunes into modern-day folk pieces, creating a contemporary jam-style Celtic groove to the beat of the wonderful Irish frame drum known as bodhrán.
