Brazilian Concerts by Claudia Villela and Santos Neto Trio in New York

New York (New York), USA - Two Brazilian acts Brazilian will be performing at Makor in New York City this week. Jazz vocalist Claudia Villela will present her haunting improvisations and surprising five-octave range. Her concert will be Thursday, April 6 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $17.

The Santos Neto Trio concert will take place Thursday, April 6 at 9:30pm. Tickets are $15. A member of Hermeto Pascoal's legendary band from 1977 to 1992, Rio de Janeiro-born and Seattle-based pianist, flutist, and composer Jovino Santos Neto has continued to expand on his world music-influenced vocabulary. He will now celebrate the release of Roda Carioca (Adventure Music), Neto's first recording as a leader since 2003's Canto de Rio, which was a Latin Grammy nominee.

The upcoming album captures Santos Neto in a trio setting, where he is joined by Roger Botter-Maio on bass, who also contributed to Weber Iago's recent Adventure Music release, and Marcio Bahia on drums, one of Brazil's most in- demand session players.
