San Diego (California), USA - H. Omoumi (ney, voice) will perform at the Neurosciences Institute on Saturday, August 5 at 8pm.

Omoumi is a musician whose mastery goes beyond a single instrument. Not only is Dr. Omoumi a master of the Persian ney (bamboo flute) and radif (classical repertoire), a tireless educator and champion of Persian music, an innovator in instrument design, but also an avid architect with a doctorate from the University of Florence. Still, the essence of his musicianship is the beauty of his tone and phrasing, and the creativity-based-on-structure that is at the heart of his improvisation. This concert is part of a new world music series taking place in San Diego. It is known as the World Music Concert Series 2006 in memory of Robert E. Brown, as part of the Neurosciences Institute Performing Art Series.
