EventsIrvine (California), USA - K. Sridhar who is currently on tour, will be performing in Irvine, California. As part of Serene Moods, K Sridhar (sarod) will be accompanied by Jyoti Prakash on the tabla. The concert will be held Sunday, April 16th at 4pm at the Ektaa Center, 2691 Richter Ste 105, Irvine CA 92606.

Few people have mastered both the Hindustani and Karnatic traditions of music. K Sridhar is one of them. Playing the complex sarod, Sridhar has years of training and touring experience. He has made 11 recordings and has composed numerous soundtracks for films including the French film, Pondicherry: juste avant l'oubli, which received the prestigious Jean Vigo Award in 1988. Currently, Sridhar is a recording artist for Peter Gabriel's RealWorld Records. In his latest recording for them, Arab Path to India, Sridhar explores the profound connection between Arabic and Indian musical roots.

Jyoti Prakash is one of the most talented disciples of Pandit Abhijit Banerjee, founder of the Dhwani Academy of Percussion. He has accompanied several renowned musicians including Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Keshav Ginde and Kathak dancer Smt. Sova Kosar of Jaipur Gharana.

He currently serves on the faculty of the Dhwani Academy of Percussion in the US and teaches in San Diego, Irvine and Los Angeles
