Chilean artist Joe Vasconcellos was asked to compose the official song for the visit of the Dalai Lama in Chile happening this weekend in Santiago. The song can be heard here.
Together with various well known Chilean musicians, Joe composed the song "En Paz" to honor the Dalai Lama's Nobel Prize-winning peace efforts during this historic visit to Chile. Joe, one of the most famous musicians in Chile, is a dedicated Buddhist and close friends with Nawang Khechog, the well-known Tibetan flautist (composer of the soundtrack for 7 Days in Tibet) and official musician of the Dalai Lama's visit in Chile.
Unfortunately,
Joe
finds himself on tour in Europe at the moment, so he won't be able to
participate in the "Concierto por la Paz" on Saturday, May 6, but his song will
be performed by the best Chilean musicians including
Inti-Illimani (historico), Congress, Pedro
Villagra, Laura Fuentes, Subhira, Tomas Thayer, and more.
More information at www.dalailama.cl.
Make sure to catch Joe on tour in the US and Canada this July.
