Band members include Dave Samuels (vibes and marimba), Michael Rodriguez (trumpet), Ruben Rodriguez (bass) and Robert Quintero (percussion). Set times Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30pm, Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm and 9:30pm, and Sunday at 7:30pm.  Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley is located at 2033 6th Avenue, Seattle, WA, 98121. Tickets cost: $24.50-26.50.

Known for her three-and-a-half octave vocal range, two-time Grammy winner Diane Schuur a.k.a. “Deedles” returns to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley with the Grammy-winning Latin jazz ensemble Caribbean Jazz Project to share their infectious Latin and jazz influenced rhythms for six nights.

Diane’s remarkable career began at age nine with her first professional gigs, including those at the local Holiday Inn. While still a student at the Washington State School for the Blind, a 16-year-old Schuur was performing original material and wowing audiences with her playful and distinctive voice. Following a series of formative single releases in the early 70’s, Schuur made her Monterey Jazz Festival debut in 1975. Discovered by the great Stan Getz in 1979, things really started to take off. It was her singing of “Amazing Grace” that caught Getz’s ear and set Schuur’s world into fast-forward.

Since then, she has performed with such greats as Stan Getz, BB King, Maynard Ferguson, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow, Quincy Jones and even sang a duet with Sesame Street’s character, Elmo. She has performed countless times on The Tonight Show, has performed at The Grammy’s and at the White House.

On June 6, Diane will release her second live album called Diane Schuur: Live In London. Recorded at the famous Ronnie Scott’s, this release epitomizes the passion, humor, and power of Diane’s live performance.
