Makoché Label Receives Two Native American Music Awards

Bismarck (North Dakota), USa - Makoché Recording, a recording label dedicated to Native American heritage and tradition and located in Bismarck, North Dakota received two NAMMYs at the Eighth Annual Native American Music Awards.
 
Makoché’s awards include Best Traditional Recording for the recording Way of Life by Lakota Thunder and Joseph Fire Crow took home Flutist of the Year for Red Beads.

In addition, United Tribes International Powwow's Home of the Champions and The Makoché Masters were nominated for Best Compilation Recording. Andrew Vasquez received a nomination for Flutist of the Year for Togo. Joseph Fire Crow’s Red Beads also picked up a nod for Best Male Artist. The Makoché Masters was also nominated for David Swenson for Best Producer.
 
 Nominees were voted upon by the Awards’ national Advisory membership. Winners of the Eighth Annual Native American Music Awards were determined through membership print ballots and a national voting campaign open to the general public. The Eighth Annual Native American Music Awards took place June 8th at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.
