Composer Emil Cossetto Dies in Zagreb

Croatia - One of Croatia's best loved composers and directors, Emil Cossetto, passed away in Zagreb. He was born in Trieste in 1918, grew up and was educated in Zagreb.

He was the founder of the Joza Vlahovic and the Mose Pijade Jewish choirs in Zagreb and was a leading force in Croatian choral singing.

He composed many pieces, the best know of which in the international folk dance community was "Ladarke". also "Moja Diri Dika", "Posavski Drmes (Kisa Pada)", "Dobri Denek", and many others from Croatia and other former Yugoslavian peoples.
