EventsLondon, England - The Dancing Turtle label in London is holding another benefit world music event in London this September, Friday 1st, at 9pm-4am at Jamm, Brixton, London SW9. Musicians, performers and DJs from around the world will be coming together, raising funds and awareness for the native people of West Papua who, according to the organizers "face extinction at the hands of the occupying Indonesian forces."

Set over two rooms with an outside space too, live performances will be coming from ex Fela Kuti band member Dele Sosimi, appearing with his critically acclaimed Afrobeat Orchestra. Also on the bill is the sensational Brazilian steel band Maracatu, as well as London blues legend Errol Linton, and native West Papuan act The Lani Singers.

DJ sets will come from Mixmaster Morris (Ninja Tune), global club and music producer Rita Ray (The Shrine) and Russ Jones of Europe's leading beats collective, Future World Funk.

Extras include capoeira performances, fire displays, visuals, human rights projections and comedy sketches, as well global munchies and DJs spinning everything from dub reggae to Latin.

There will be a live streaming of the event online at www.piratetv.net from 22:00 (10 pm) GMT.

All proceeds from the evening going directly to West Papuan refugee support programs.

Tickets available from ticketweb priced at £8.
