Madrid, Spain - Some of Flamenco's biggest names will be performing
in Madrid's subway system.
The 2nd Cumbre Flamenca en el Metro de Madrid (Madrid
Metro Flamenco Summit) will begin Monday, September 11th, and will run until
Friday, September 15th. All performances will begin at 22:00 (10 pm) at the main
lobby in the Nuevos Ministerios metro station.
The performers this year are some of Flamenco's best known artists. Dancer
María
Pagés will perform September 11. The following day, September 12, will be
dedicated to Flamenco song with
Capullo De Jerez.
On September 13,
Niña
Pastori will showcase the crossover face of Flamenco song.
Mayte
Martín, considered the finest female singer of her generation, will perform
Thursday, September 14. The festival will end on Friday, September 15, with
guitar maestro
Enrique De Melchor.
Last year, guitarist
Tomatito was a featured artist. Metro de Madrid is a pioneer in providing extensive multicultural arts
programming to its users. It's at the forefront in Europe in the use of public
spaces for the performing arts featuring renowned artists.
