Seattle, WA--Seattle Pro Musica, under the direction of Karen P.
Thomas, is now accepting applications for its American Masterpieces Choral
Festival. The Festival will be held on June 15, 16, and 17, 2007 at Benaroya
Hall and Town Hall, (Seattle),
and is sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts.
Dale Warland is the guest conductor for Seattle Pro Musica's American
Masterpieces Choral Festival, conducting the massed festival choir comprised of
participating choral groups. Morten Lauridsen is the guest composer for the
festival--his work will be featured on the festival programs. Participating
choirs will have the opportunity to work with Mr. Warland and Mr. Lauridsen.
Choirs interested in applying to perform at the festival may download the
application from Seattle Pro Musica's website:
http://www.seattlepromusica.org/festival%20page.htm. Applications are due by
September 30, 2006.
Seattle Pro Musica's American Masterpieces Choral Festival is made possible with
support from the National Endowment of the Arts. Nationwide, only seven choirs
have been selected to participate in NEA's American Masterpieces Coral
Initiative project for the 2006-2007 season. Seattle Pro Musica is the only
choral ensemble west of Texas to be so honored. Seattle Pro Musica is honored to
represent the Pacific Northwest region for the NEA' American Masterpieces
program, and to bring choral luminaries Dale Warland and Morten Lauridsen to
Seattle for our June 2007 American Masterpieces Choral Festival.
