David Nighteagle's Lakota Heritage

New CDs

Phoenix(Arizona), USA - David Nighteagle joins the Canyon Records label with Torn from the Heart -The Journey. Nighteagle draws upon his Lakota heritage to create songs that evoke the past and harken the future. This album is a heart-felt expression of contemporary Native American with songs for solo flute interspersed with soothing vocals whose lyrics describe the gritty reality of the Native American experience over the centuries.

These songs tell us of the decimation of the people, the buffalo and the land while also speaking of the strengths and hopes of "The People".

David Nighteagle has performed at various venues including Disney World, Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde National Parks and Crow Canyon Archeological Center. In 1999 he performed for the former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and most recently for Laura Bush at Mesa Verde National Park in May of 2006.
