New Releases

Madrid, Spain - Nayla, a Lebanese singer based in Madrid, will present her debut CD, Ala maak, on October 31 at 21h30, at Galileo Galilei, which is located at calle Galileo nº100, metro station Islas Filipinas, Madrid. Phone: (91) 534 75 57

The singer-songwriter is known for ability to blend musical styles. She is yet another name to add to Madrid’s growing mestizo music community.

Nayla mixes Arabic music and Flamenco. She sings in Lebanese Arabic, Spanish and French.

Nayla lived through the dramatic years of the Lebanese Civil War. She later moved to France and finally settled in Madrid, Spain. In 1999 she discovered Flamenco music, through its dance forms. She decided to write songs combining rhythms, melodies and instruments from both ends of the Mediterranean.

In 2006 Nayla self produced her debut album, which features 11 pieces, including Middle Eastern sounds combined with bolero, Flamenco rumba and bossa nova.
