 UK - Yashila is the name of a new Indian fusion collective formed by prestigious Indian instrumentalists. The group released its first CD, Drive East (Sense World Music), this fall.
Kala Ramnath needs little introduction these days and is considered by many to be one of the finest violinists India has to offer. She is one of the members of Yashila, together with Abhijit Banerjee and Somnath Roy. Drive East is an electrifying brand of New India Fusion which fuses the best of North and South Indian classical tradition with a hint of flavours from other world regions such as Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
Yashila will be on tour in the UK in June/July 2007.
