The Departure Lounge - Grooves

EMI is distributing a collection of lounge music CDs produced by Petrol Records. Although I find a lot of the recent lounge collections unappealing, occasionally I find some gems. The Grooves CD includes a piece titled Samba Paulista by A Man Called Sensible, an excellent artist that blends samba with cutting edge electronica, jazz grooves and American Funk/R&B.

There are other attractive pieces on the CD such as the fast paced and somewhat chaotic Bossa Con Affano by Monsieur Blumenberg; the club beats added to Lily Frost's African American spiritual song; the scratchy sample collages of Scrathoetry by Alien Army; and the groovy jazz beats of The Five Corners Quintet.

Buy The Departure Lounge - Grooves.
