The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra specializes in Arab-Andalusian music, the music that was played in Medieval Muslim Spain, in a time of tolerance, and was later spread to several parts of North Africa.

For its latest CD, the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra pays tribute to the coastal city of Ashdod, where the group is based. The result is a rich tapestry of ancient sounds combined with modern elements.

The current format of the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra includes musicians of North African origin who plays percussion, 'ud, flutes and other instruments, as well as several Russian Jews who play violin.
