A Mystical Journey Concert Tour

A Mystical Journey: Sufi Music and other Expressions of Devotion from the Muslim World, premieres in Los Angeles on March 8th, 2008 with subsequent performances in San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and New York.

The audience will find “A Mystical Journey” a heart warming experience in which world renowned artists from across the globe will uplift the audience through different musical and mystical traditions.

Music and dance, in a variety of forms, have been used to express love and devotion to God in many Muslim countries. This concert tour brings together over sixty artists from six countries, performing music pieces, including qawwali's, ilahis, kalams, contemporary songs and dance performances by whirling Sufis, who will take audiences on an inspirational and unforgettable journey of the mind, body, and soul.

Some of the visiting world class performers in "A Mystical Journey" are:

The Dalahoo Sufi Ensemble from Iran, which has performed in many festivals around the world, including those in Turkey (Konya at the Mevlana International Sufi Concert), India, Pakistan, Switzerland, UAE, United Kingdom, and USA.

Choir Hazreti Hamza from Bosnia, founded in 1993 during the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, performs in Naqshibandi – a tradition of Sufi music, and has toured in Croatia, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany and Switzerland.

Tahleelah from Syria, are led by Sheikh Hamzeh Chakour, the choir master at the Great Mosque in Damascus and one of the foremost performers of Arab vocal music.

Rizwan and Muazzam Khan, nephews of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, perform qawwalis on harmonium and tabla.

Salman Ahmad from Pakistan, who founded South Asia's biggest rock band, Junoon, that sold over 25 million albums worldwide. He has performed at the United Nations General Assembly and been appointed United Nations Goodwill Ambassador on HIV/AIDS.
