Contributed by: WMC_News_Dept.

General NewsLegendary Bollywood singing sensation Asha Bhosle - "The most recorded voice on the planet" with over 12,500 titles to her name - makes a rare leap from the film screen to an intimate concert at the Broward Center. During a six-decade career she has sung in over 950 Bollywood movies, performed in 18 languages, won seven Filmfare Awards in India, and twice received the National Award for her ghazals.

Asha Bhosle is an unparalleled icon in India. A tireless collaborator with artists of all styles, she entered the mainstream pop arena singing with dance music producers, bhangra groups, and Western artists like Michael Stipe, Kronos Quartet, Culture Club and many others. From Asia to Carnegie Hall, and now the Broward Center, Asha Bhosle captivates audiences everywhere.

She is now touring in support of an exciting new project, 75 Years of Asha (Times Square Records), a set of fresh new recordings by the great star, as she revisits her favorite songs - plus a few she wishes she had recorded.

Performing with Asha Bhosle will be Amit Kumar, the son of Bollywood legend Kishore Kumar. Amit Kumar is also a great star in India in his own right, and current sits as a judge on the Indian version of American idol, called K For Kishore.
