 Spirits were high last night at the Austin Music Awards last night, where Atash was honored with the award for Best World Music Band of 2007-8, followed by a celebratory set at the Red Fez featuring Mohammad Firoozi, Christian Fernandez, Dylan Jones, John Moon, Roberto Riggio, Alseny Sylla, Aboubakar Sylla, and special guests Bryan Austin on drums and Indrajit Banerjee on sitar.
"We would like to thank our fans in Austin and beyond for honoring us with this award," said the band. " In the immortal words of Rumi - "We have fallen to a place where everything is music!"
